Radar Access Restrictions
Starting on Friday 19:00 UTC, Access to RawFlight Virtual Radar will be restricted.
In the last days we discovered large, unusual link load. We decided to make an investigation and the effect shocked us:
There are clients/servers/bots that are downloading our Live Data Stream File 24/7. One download generates about 20mbit/sec traffic. Currently, we have 1gbit symetric fiber connection. Easily counting we found out, that we can serve 50 clients without any limits caused by network capacity. Number of clients has been calculated when there were about 4000 aircrafts on the Radar.
Getting back to main topic: we detected about 30 clients that are continuously downloading our Live Data Stream File. Blocking IP Address is not effective – once we block IP, client/bot comes back with new IP Address. After research we found out, that clients are using VPN.
Given the above, we decided to restrict access to RawFlight Radar for humans only.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Access to Radar will be restricted. You need to have your own login and password to log into radar. We do not require you to be a Feeder or Patron to have an account on RawFlight Radar. This is only our security policy.
HOW CAN I GET ACCESS?
Please follow THIS GUIDE IN OUR KNOWLEDGE BASE.
NOTE: REGISTRATION IN HELPDESK IS NOT REQUIRED. RADAR AND HELPDESK ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SYSTEMS.
